Julie Anne San Jose to play online romance novelist in GMA News TV's 'Heartful Café'
As they say, a new year brings a new beginning. And for Kapuso singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose, nothing could be more true as she will be headlining GMA News TV's Heartful Café, a series that is slated to run in 2021.
In an interview with GMA Network on December 21, Julie Anne says she's excited about the many big opportunities that are coming in the year ahead.
“Well, it's a good way to start the year,” she began.
“Siyempre kasi 'pag bagong taon, bagong opportunities, at bagong blessings so I'm very, very excited especially may bagong project -- ito nga pong Heartful Café.
“Ako po si Heart Fulgencio dito, isang online romance novelist. May stuff in common kami kasi we both write stuff and pareho kaming devoted coffee drinkers.”
Heart, Julie's character, owns Heartful Café, a family-run coffee business where she will meet a series of characters that she will match based on their profiles and personalities.
Julie added, “Naniniwala siya na everything in this world is destined to happen. Parang lahat tinadhana sa lahat ng tao. If makaka-encounter siya ng love story, natutuwa siya.
“Siya nga 'yung si cupid na nagma-match ng tao and she encourages people to fall in love.”
But has the Asia's Pop Diva ever played cupid in real life? And if so, what's her advice for people trying to look for love?
She answered, “In some ways siguro, oo [nagawa ko na]. 'Yung parang may kaibigan ka or someone close to you na you think bagay siya dito and siyempre irereto mo sa friend mo. Ayun!
“Siguro ang masasabi ko lang minsan kasi ang tao talaga na para sa'yo ay darating at darating din yan sa'yo kasi siya ipinagkaloob sa'yo ni Lord.”
Julie's character will be paired with none other than Kapuso hunk David Licauco, who plays Ace in the series.
Asked what she thinks of their pairing, the singer said she's excited to see how their chemistry will translate on-screen given that it is their first time to be working together on a project.
“First-time ko makaka-work si David bilang leading man kaya I'm excited,” she said.
“We see each other around GMA. Pero we never really had the chance to talk or magkumustahan. Siguro dito ko mas makikilala si David.”
She continued, “Dito namin malalaman ang capability namin ni David as a love team. I'm also looking forward kung anong ma-i-offer ng teamup sa audience and ano ma-i-offer namin sa isa't isa. Gusto namin maging organic lang lahat.”
Aside from their pairing, this will also be the first time Julie will have her first lock-in taping for a GMA project.
“Sobrang nakakapanibago, of course, kasi nag-briefing kami na kailangan naming sundin 'yung protocols para sa safety ng lahat,” she confessed.
“Maraming kailangan sundin dahil maraming bawal at maraming kailangan i-follow. Pero para rin naman sa ikabubuti ng lahat 'yan at para maiwasan natin magkasakit at maghawaan.
“Ito rin naman yung ina-apply nila sa soaps it's just that first time ko lang maka-experience ng ganito.”
